Dr. Klagsbald represented Mr. Ariel Sharon in the Greek island affair and in the Cyril Kern affair, the Recanati family, Discount Bank and IDB in the bankers’ trial and Mr. Ofer Nimrodi in connection with his membership on a board of directors following a criminal conviction. Dr. Klagsbald is responsible for the acquittal of defendants indicted for severe offenses: Y.L.R. Capital Markets and Batucha in the Baumel affair and Mr. Meir Hadar in the Piryon affair, as well as Adv. Israel Shimonov in the Tamir Fishman affair.

The firm also advises corporations injured by white collar crime and assists them with the criminal and civil aspects of such offenses, including Harel Group in connection with the Guy Weissman embezzlement affair; Psagot Investment House in connection with the stock manipulation affair; Bezeq and Pelephone in the Trojan Horse affair; and Bank Hapoalim in the money laundering affair.

Dr. Klagsbald has extensive academic experience in the various branches of public law. Dr. Klagsbald has served as a lecturer on constitutional law at leading academic institutions and has published many articles in these areas. His academic experience has been translated into representation of prime ministers, cabinet ministers and key public figures in state commissions of inquiry, representation in complex petitions to the Supreme Court, such as petitions to overturn primary legislation, and representation in clashes on matters of principle in cases of public interest.

Dr. Klagsbald authored the book National Commissions of Inquiry (2001). Dr. Klagsbald has also published articles in leading journals, including A Comment on the Scope of Immunity of the President of Israel, Tel Aviv University Law Review 7 (5739), Letter of Relief and a License for Freedom, Tel Aviv University Law Review 9 (5743), Criminal Offense and Early Prevention, Criminal Law II (5751), Public Office, A Criminal Record and Administrative Evidence, HaMishpat (5755), Restriction of the Right of Argumentation Before Commissions of Inquiry, Law and Government (5758), Conflict with a Basic Law, HaPraklit (5766), and From the Rubinstein Case to the Rubinstein Book: On the Current Interpretation of Section 4 of the Basic Law: The Knesset , Law and Business Law Review (5772).

The depth of this academic experience has lent itself to the management of clashes in public law matters, both in connection with election proceedings (representation of Shaul Mofaz in connection with the right to be elected, and representation of Tal Zilberstein in connection with the “Barak Association” affair), and for major market players, including large media bodies (the legislation regarding foreign ownership of an Israeli newspaper, the communications tenders of Channel 10 and the News Channel, the Public Broadcasting Corporation in the petition against its being split). Dr. Klagsbald has also taken part in public struggles of in-principle importance: Representing factions in the City of Tel Aviv in connection with the membership of a woman in the body electing the City Rabbi; representing MK Tzaban in connection with the dedicated funds affair; representing ‘A Constitution for Israel’ in connection with discrimination in tax exemption; and representing Naamat in connection with the election method at the General Federation of Labor.Dr. Klagsbald frequently represents prime ministers, cabinet ministers and key public figures before national commissions of inquiry (Mr. Binyamin Netanyahu before the Tirkel Commission in connection with the flotilla to Gaza; the Commander of the Bodyguard Unit before the Shamgar Commission in connection with the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin; Mr. Ehud Barak before the Or Commission in connection with the events of October 2000; and Mr. Yitzhak Aharonovich before the Zeiler Commission in connection with the actions of the Israel Police and the Office of the State Attorney in the Perinian brothers affair).

Antitrust Law

Antitrust law is among the most intricate and complex branches of the law. It requires mastery in diverse fields of law (civil, public and criminal), combined with a deep understanding of economics. This legal field has a decisive influence on the conduct of companies and managers in the Israeli economy.

Dr. Klagsbald and his team are responsible for major antitrust precedents at both the civil level (the Chef Hayam precedent) and the criminal level (the traffic lights affair and the Tnuva meat cartel affair). The firm advises clients in civil and criminal proceedings regarding restrictive trade practices, mergers and monopolies, and represents such corporations vis-à-vis the Antitrust Authority and in courts of law. Thus, for example, the firm handled various aspects of the Gillette razor blade monopoly and the merger of gas companies Sonol and Dor Alon.

Between 1998 and 2007 Amir Shraga was an associate and thereafter a partner in the litigation department of the leading law firm Danziger, Klagsbald & Co.. During his practice, Amir Shraga represented companies and individuals in complex legal proceedings and corporate power struggles, including at Club Hotel, Tempo, the real estate company Peretz Bonei HaNegev, motor car importer Kamor, in actions under the Securities Law in respect of hostile takeovers and partner disputes.

Amir Shraga represented clients in complex cross-border legal actions, including a lawsuit of Motorola Inc. against parties in Turkey, a lawsuit of the public company Malam Systems against Emblaze, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange, and a lawsuit of the Mercedes importer to Israel. Amir Shraga has also represented key persons in the business community in Israel and overseas, including Mr. Sheldon G. Adelson and Prof. Shlomo Ben Haim.
Amir Shraga has handled a broad range of complex class actions and derivative actions for his clients.
In 2008 Amir Shraga founded, together with Dr. Klagsbald, the law firm of Dr. A. Klagsbald & Co. Attorney Zamir Ben Basat first joined Dr. A. Klagsbald & Co. Law Offices in 2011.
Zamir holds an LL.M from Harvard University under a Fulbright Fellowship, and LL.B and B.A (Economics) from the University of Haifa, where he graduated 1st in his class.
He has held research and teaching positions in the fields of both private and public law, and publications authored by him have been cited by the courts.
Zamir interned at the Supreme Court, where he served as a law clerk to the Hon. Chief Justice (now retired) Asher Grunis.
In his practice, Zamir has represented clients in high profile complex legal proceedings, including class actions, cases with international and antitrust aspects, and in proceedings vis-à-vis state authorities.

Don Sosunov completed with highest honors the Master of Laws program (thesis-based; Ranked 1st in class) at University of Haifa in the school of law and had completed earlier an accelerated joint program which entitles its graduates to LL.B and B.A in Economics, as part of the IDF Academic “Atuda” program. During his studies, Don participated as a visiting student at the Institute of Law & Economics at the University of Hamburg; undertook several teaching-assisting positions to a number of law professors; and he’s the recipient of numerous academic awards and multiple honors.
Don spent almost five years working for the Israeli Ministry of Defense’s budget department as a financial advisor and also for the Israel Securities Authority (parallel to SEC). Prior to joining Dr. A. Klagsbald & Co., Don served as a law clerk to the Honorable Justice Noam Sohlberg at the Supreme Court of Israel, has published a few professional articles on Corporate Law and Securities Regulation and served as a teaching fellow especially in the fields of Constitutional law and Evidence at the University of Haifa, Radzyner Law School (IDC) and Carmel Academic Center.
